The reason you have to change brake fluid every 2 years is that it is Hydroscopic (absorbs water) - this means that when the brake fluid absorbs water from the atmosphere, the water boils in the brake caliper pistons and causes the brake to fail (water boils at a much lower temperature than brake fluid).
